MumRed is a commanding force in cultural couture and contemporary fashion, born from over three decades of cultural practice, performance and storytelling.
Founded by Samala Thakialee Cronin in 2023, the label embodies survival, strength and sovereignty – transforming traditional materials and cultural knowledge into couture that is both striking and delicate, reflecting the strength and softness of creation and the matriarchy.
Emerging from a foundation of grassroots activism and climate advocacy, grounded in calls for LANDBACK, MumRed has rapidly risen to international prominence. The label has opened major runways, captivated global audiences, and in 2025 was honoured with an International Design Award for fashion, recognising its innovative, culturally driven approach to design.
Unapologetic and visionary, MumRed continues to challenge the fashion industry, creating space for First Nations representation on its own terms.
