First Nations Fashion + Design (FNFD) invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander fashion designers and labels from across Australia to apply for our National Runway in Sydney, May 2027.

This curated runway celebrates the diversity, innovation and excellence of First Nations fashion, providing designers with a national platform to present their collections, elevate their brands and connect with industry, media and new audiences in the capital of Australian fashion.

Whether your expertise lies in fashion, textiles, adornment, or experimental design, this is your chance to present your skills on a national, industry-ready stage - we want you to join us in celebrating and uplifting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent by providing growth and engagement opportunities.

Open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander designer individuals, groups, organisations and collaborations - More than a runway, FNFD offers the following if you are successful in your application:

  • Presentation of your collection (8-12 looks) on a professionally curated Sydney runway
  • First Nations models: professional model coordination and representation
  • Styling, hair and make-up: creative and backstage support
  • Runway production: professional production led by a First Nations creative team
  • Media asset package: edited runway photographs and runway video footage for your portfolio and promotion
  • National exposure: featured promotion across FNFD's website, communications and media channels, with potential additional editorial opportunities
  • Guest access: two complimentary VIP tickets

Designers selected for the runway will have the opportunity to present 8-12 standout runway looks as part of a professionally curated runway (runway-ready looks, finished and available for dispatch no later than early April 2027).

FNFD will work alongside stylists to prepare each look for the runway, helping bring your creative vision to life while maintaining the integrity of your finished collection.
